Faith and Guts...

Day three and counting...of life as a student at the Utah Valley University (UVU)! Through Vocational Rehab Mike's been able to take 14 credits. Math, Business Law, Principles of Leadership, and Business Presentations. His focus is accounting right now...but he might go into business management or even law. Really the sky's the limit! These first few semesters will help sort out the waters a bit. Since beginning...every evening has been focused on homework. Between classes every day, homework, and physical therapy three times a week he's pretty busy! It's been nearly 8 years since he's been in school. He feels like a fish out of water...but he's excited to get going on the next step! I'm so proud of him! It takes a lot of faith and guts to go back to school...but those are two things Mike has a whole lot of! Love you Mike!

That is so great that you are going back to school. It probably feels weird, but things will get easier and easier. I've haven't been able to stop thinking about the fact that you RODE A STATIONARY BIKE. I'm getting tears in my eyes again here. Wow, wow, wow!

It is so great to see you at school! Richard just graduated from UVU with his degree in Business Management. He always felt a little old to be there, too. But what an awesome place to be!!! Good luck and hang in there! We sure love you guys!!! Driving, biking and getting to school. The word impossible is not in your vocabulary! Miracles happen everyday. I keep looking around and seeing them. Good luck in the classes. If you need any help from Richard, give us a call.

Don't look so happy about it Mike! You and Jess can start the school journey together this year. I'm not sure which of you has the better deal though.... :-) I think its so cool that you're able to go back to school, and hopefully as time passes, it will turn into something that you love as well...(I know its not your favorite thing). Good luck!

Hey Mike and Michelle,
You know me as Rick's sister (and a member of your ward) but I bet you didn't know that I work at UVU in accessibility services so if you need help with a table in a room or any accessible help just let me know! I would be happy to help.

Mike, after seeing you in the hall today I had to stop by your guy's blog and see how you were doing. Let me know if you need any help with your math classes. I've been a tutor here at UVU for 2 years now and would love to help out if I can. ejland(swirly at sign)gmail.com
