Holiday...Catch Up!

Wow....I am horrible! Has it really almost been a month since I've updated??? Between Christmas...sickness...and all the stuff in between our poor blog has suffered :( So here's a really really quick update!

We had a fantastic Christmas...different from all the other years...but great! Man 3 year olds are so much fun at Christmas time! Elaine made it really fun for Brody as well...towards that remaining few days left till Christmas she and Brody would march around the house singing "I do believe in Christmas...I DO I DO!!!" It was so funny! But yes, Santa made it and it was a great time with family and friends...Brody did get awful sick Christmas day and the days following...I hate sickness around the holidays! But he still managed to enjoy the day! Jocelyn received her very first baby doll...and boy does she love that thing! As soon as she opened her present (or rather Brody opened it for her) she squealed and kissed and loved her up! It was so cute! Here are a few pics...of our holiday season...and a funny video will be coming!

About the 2nd week of December, I took Brody with me to Seagull Book to buy a Christmas present for his mom and dad. I told him it was a secret. He wanted to know if he could have a present. I told him that Santa would bring him a present, but right now, we didn't want mommy and daddy to feel left out, so, he was going to buy one just for them. He was just fine with that thought. We took a while to decide. He convinced me to buy a book called Book of Mormon ABC's. It is a board book with flaps to open. He really likes it. So...we went to check out. Brody was down at my feet looking at a display of books down low. He was saying Grandma, grandma....I wasn't really listening cause I was talking with the cashier. Finally, I paid attention. "Grandma, he said, pointing to a book I couldn't see from that angle, grandma, he broke his hand." His voice was concerned. I kneeled down. Brody was pointing to the book: Reflections of Christ. The cover was in white, depicting Christ from the back, head turned to the side and palm turned out showing the nail print large and torn. I said, "Yes, he did break his hand for us...for all of us." I was choked up and weeping at the check out in front of strangers all around. I said in an open voice to the checker and any who would hear. I have to tell you this and I repeated Brody's actions and words. I left emotionally with my sweet grandson still concerned over the broken hand. I was emotional as I told this story to Mike and Michelle...the sweetest part of my Christmas to that date.
Michelle, thanks for taking all the nativity pics. It was a thrill to see the grandkids spontaneaously huddle around baby Jesus and coo over him. It was tender then and it is tender now to review in pictures. Thanks dear Michelle.
