Some days I think..."Could things go any slower?"...but then all I have to do is think how much has happened in just a year! This whole experience has taught us a lot...and we are learning more each day. We have learned to depend so much on eachother...family...friends...and most importantly the Lord. Where would we be without the love of so many amazing people. Seriously...Mike and I ask ourselves that all the time? Our circumstances could have been so much different. Thank you so much everyone. Really...where would we be without you?
Here's a list of things we've looked forward to this past year for Mike's progress...in this order...crazy to think about...here we go:
Talking to Mike on the phone after he was hurt...
Seeing Mike after he was hurt...
His surgery...
His back brace...it meant sitting up...
Sitting up... A wheelchair...
Leaving the ICU...
Mike being able to see the kids...
In patient rehab...
Transferring without help from bed to chair...from chair to car...
Racing Mike in a wheelchair...
His transition room...which meant I could stay with him...
Mike coming home for an overnighter...
Mike coming home...
Dr.'s appointments...and progress...
Brace coming off...it stunk...and he hated it...
Mike being able to roll on to his belly...
Out patient rehab...at Neuroworx...
Swimming...
Being able to drive on his own again...
Crawling...
School...
Getting leg braces...
Hugging and kissing Mike on my tippie toes...
Walking...

He's so lucky to be stuck with you!! You're always posting about how incredible his progress is and how wonderful he is. And it's all true!! But there's no one to post about how amazing you are, Michelle!! The things YOU have had to undertake in the last year in order to support your kids and Mike are just astounding. You are such a strong wife, mother, and person. I look up to you so, so much!!
You guys are really amazing! Truly an inspiration. I hope one day to have the faith you guys do. Congratulations to all of you for everything you've overcome and endured this year. Brice and I sure do miss our Brody-man! Can he come play sometime?

It is such a reality to watch the video and think what we take for granted in our lives, something as simple as walking. We love you guys and continue to pray for the progress of Mike and the comfort within your family

That's pretty amazing, Michelle. You both have done amazing things in this past year. Thanks for letting us in on this journey your family has undertaken. I marvel at your strength and at Mike's determination. I'm SO glad he ended up getting braces. The first steps are the hardest and I wouldn't be surprised to see him conquer this.

I'ver been reading all of your blogs since Mike's accident. I wanted to try to keep up with your family. I don't usually leave a comment, but just wanted you to know how much you both inspire me. I know it must be hard sometimes, but your strength and endurance shines through and is an inspiriation to not give in to hopelessness. Mike has done so much in this past year, like you said, it is truely amazing & he's proved you have every bit of reason to continue toward your goals! Michelle, you're an amazing woman too and I love you and miss you. I'm SO impressed with your level of support for Mike. and your photography skills too btw. Wow! Your blog is so fun to follow.
